Mission Statement

Operation Click strives to encourage School District 155 students to make a personal decision to wear their safety belts.  This is accomplished through positive  reinforcement, and prize giveaways.

Operation Click has successfully raised the seat belt compliance rate among students from 65% to 95%, reducing the number of severe injuries during motor vehicle crashes and saving lives.

Student Committees - Get Involved!

. Work together with Board members and faculty representatives . Monthly meetings - lunch included! (get out of class AND a free lunch!) . Student activities

Surveys:

Quarterly seat belt surveys are done at each school to determine each school's seat belt compliance rate.

Improving Results:

  1998 2000 2006
Prairie Ridge 65% 82% 96.5%
Central 65% 88% 96.25%
South 65% 84% 95%
Cary Grove   April 06 86%

Each schools' compliance rate determines how many finalists will be drawn to win the Grand Prize! 90-94.9% compliance rate and that school gets one finalist. 95% and above and two finalists will be drawn for that school.

To be eligible to win any of the major prizes, students must adhere to the contract they signed that states they will wear their seat belts at all times, they will not drink and drive, they will not ride in a car with a driver who has consumed alcohol, and they will not be convicted of any traffic related violation.
